WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS HAVE TO SAY

  • Excellent, efficient service. Dave knew exactly what he was doing, explained the problems (plural) and made the necessary adjustments. When finished, he took the time to ask if I had any questions, then cleaned up. I can’t fault this service

  • Outstanding service!! I rang at 8.30 and it was fixed by 4pm. There was clear communication and texts for when PK would arrive. He came and serviced the door, diagnosed the issue, went off and got the parts and was back by 3pm. We never even saw PK, just left the door in neutral, and he owned the job and completed it.

This business clearly wants to impress, and they did!

Warning!

The spring unit is under tension at all times and should never be adjusted, except by approved, trained Kinetic Access dealers. No operator or other person should ever stand directly in the path of the garage door in its downward travel or walk through doorway while the garage door is moving. Always use the garage door handle to manually operate the door. If your garage door is now, or later becomes, automatically operated, any pull down rope on the garage door must be removed.

DO NOT PLACE YOUR FINGERS NEAR ANY MOVING PARTS OR BETWEEN THE GARAGE DOOR PANELS WHEN THE DOOR IS OPERATING EITHER AUTOMATICALLY OR MANUALLY.

Did you know...

Most garage door breakdowns start with small, preventable issues

A rattle, a squeak, or a door that feels a little slower than usual is often the first warning sign of a much bigger problem. These symptoms commonly indicate worn rollers, loose hinges, misalignment, or early spring fatigue. When caught early, they’re fast and inexpensive to fix, but when ignored, they can escalate into full system failure. Because your garage door is the largest moving object in your home, regular servicing and lubrication protect against costly emergency callouts and extend the life of every component.

Annual servicing dramatically improves safety, lifespan, and warranty compliance

Most garage door and opener manufacturers recommend servicing every 12 months to keep your system safe, smooth, and compliant with warranty requirements. This includes checking tension, balancing the door, testing safety systems, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring your opener isn’t overworking. An unbalanced or heavy door puts enormous strain on the motor, reducing its lifespan and increasing the likelihood of sudden breakdowns, especially once an opener reaches the typical 10–12 year age range.

New Zealand weather is tough on garage doors — especially in coastal areas

Salt air, frost, moisture, and strong winds can cause corrosion and wear on springs, hinges, tracks, sensors, and panels. In coastal Canterbury and Auckland, this happens faster than many homeowners realise. Regular checks and using the right NZ-appropriate lubricants can add years to your door’s lifespan. Even sensor misalignment, one of the most common causes of doors not closing, can be triggered by temperature changes or wind movement and is easily resolved during a service.

Your garage door plays a major role in your home’s security and energy efficiency

An aging or poorly maintained door is one of the first access points burglars test. Weak locks, outdated openers, and faulty safety systems can compromise your home security without you realising it. Modern opener upgrades offer stronger security, quieter operation, smartphone control, and far greater reliability. And if your garage sits beside or under living spaces, an insulated door can significantly reduce energy loss, cut down noise, and improve overall home comfort.

Springs, sensors, and DIY repairs are the biggest sources of emergency callouts

Springs perform 90% of the lifting on every cycle, which is why spring failure is the number-one emergency repair – once a spring breaks, an opener physically cannot lift the door safely. Sensors are another frequent issue, often preventing the door from closing simply due to misalignment or obstruction. And while DIY fixes might seem simple, garage door springs and cables carry extreme tension; incorrect handling is a major cause of injuries. Professional servicing keeps everything balanced, safe, and performing at its best.
